Gustavus Community Network Committee Meeting Minutes

 Friday, Sept. 17 9:00 a.m. City Hall

Members Present:  Diane Klawunder (Chair); Paul Berry; Kim Ney

Others Present: Kapryce Manchester, Nate Borson, Elzbieta   Kunat

1.           Call to order: 9 AM

2.           Additions to agenda and approval: Motion by Kim/ Diane to approve agenda. Motion passed unanimously

3.           Approval of minutes:  From Sept. 10th, 2010 meeting Motion by Kim/ Diane Motion passed unanimously

4.           Opening of Communications tower construction bids

Three bids received. Two were properly labeled with RFQ number, opening date and contractors name on the outside of the sealed envelope, the third was blank.

Motion by Kim/ Paul, That we follow the RFQ bidders instructions as stated and not open the bid. Motion passed unanimously.

Glacier Bay Construction: $ 28,671.25

Peak Construction: $ 33,781.50

            A.  Recommendation to City Council re communication tower contractor

Comment by Nate Borson, Elzbieta   Kunat & Ken Klawunder

Paul motion to discuss bids received by Paul seconded by Kim. Motion passed unanimously.

Motion by Kim request the City Council to fund the $8,672 difference for the building of the tower, seconded by Diane. Discussion. Motion passed unanimously.

Nate will draft Q&A and business case for the tower for the Council
