Meeting called to order 7:15 PM, Gustavus Public Library.

In attendance: committee members Nathan Borson, Allison Banks, Wayne Clark

Absent: Wayne Howell, Bruce Tedtsen.

Also in attendance: Kapryce Manchester.

Meeting Minutes: Reviewed and approved unanimously.

Old Business: Policy development “Information and Communications.”

1)  The committee reviewed Alaska State Law Codes AS 40.17, AS 40.17, and AS 40.25. The committee felt these documents had definitions we could use for clarification, and material in AS 40.21 which especially addressed record definitions.

2)  The committee then worked on a flow chart diagram that helped us to visualize how records  would be handled if they were Confidential or Public Records.

3) Tasks that came out of discussion: Committee members will look at how other governing bodies deal with issues of public meetings, public records, and their definitions of recorded material.

Wayne Clark will look at Kenai Peninsula’s policies.

Allison Banks will look at Palmer’s policies.

Nathan Borson will look at Wasilla’s policies.
