Special Meeting Minutes 1-22-2009

City Council Special Meeting

January 22, 2009

 

 

Call to Order:  A Special Meeting of the Gustavus City Council was held on January 22, 2009 at 7:00PM.

Mayor Unkel called the meeting to order 7:07PM.

 

Roll Call:

Comprising a quorum of the Council the following were present:

                             Mayor Unkel

                             Vice Mayor Berry

                             Council Member Cacioppo

                             Council Member Howell

                             Council Member Lassiter

                             Council Member Nixon

                            

Council Members not in attendance:

                             Council Member Marchbanks           -Absent/Excused

 

Mayor’s Request For Agenda Changes:  None

 

Resolutions:

§   Resolution 2009-01 A Resolution by the City of Gustavus In Support Of The Submission Of A Funding Request Proposal Through The State of Alaska Capital Improvement Program To Construct A New Breakwater Float And Moorage Floats For The New Gustavus Dock.

Resolution 2009-01 was read by Mayor Unkel. 

 

Motion:                 Council Member Lassiter moved that we accept

                             Resolution 2009-01 a resolution by the City of

                             Gustavus in support of the submission of a funding                                   request proposal through the State of Alaska Capital

                             Improvement program to construct a new breakwater

                             float and moorage floats for the new Gustavus Dock.

Seconded by:        Council Member Cacioppo

 

Council discussion followed.

 

Motion to Amend: Council Member Nixon moved that we strike in the 6th                                       whereas “harbor project” and insert “the new                                            breakwater and timber floats”.

Seconded by:        Council Member Lassiter

Council discussion followed.

§         Ranking of CIP Proposal

 

Motion:                 Council Member Nixon moved that we rank this as                                   our highest priority. 

Seconded by:        Council Member Howell
