Resolution No. 2004-02

A Resolution in support of a grant application by the Fairweather Fisheries Development Council to provide funding for startup costs and equity stake as a Community Quota Entity as defined in 50 CFR Part 679, Amendment 66; for the Community of Gustavus, Alaska.

WHEREAS, The Fairweather Fisheries Development Council is the designated CQE for the Community of Gustavus, and

WHEREAS, The Gustavus City Council is the governing body for the City of Gustavus, Alaska, and

WHEREAS, The Fairweather Fisheries Development Council is applying for a Mini-Grant from the State Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED), Division of Community Advocacy, in partnership with the Denali Commission and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service to obtain funding for startup costs and equity stake to implement the Community Quota Entity program described and regulated in 50 CFR Part 679, Amendment 66.

NOW BE IT RESOLVED THAT The Gustavus City Council supports the Mini-Grant application of The Fairweather Fisheries Development Council and commits to working with their Council and staff in the implementation of the CQE Program.
