Resolution No. 2004-05
Resolution of the City of Gustavus in support of a proposal to improve Wilson/Rink Creek Road in Gustavus
WHEREAS, Wilson/Rink Creek Road is a primary thoroughfare within the City of Gustavus, providing fundamental transportation needs for residents and businesses; and
WHEREAS, Wilson/Rink Creek Road was never constructed to perform the year-round functions which it is currently fulfilling; and
WHEREAS, Wilson/Rink Creek Road currently exists in a deteriorated state, and is marginally passable during certain periods due to lack of proper construction and inadequate drainage; and
WHEREAS, the condition of Wilson/Rink Creek Road may preclude the delivery of emergency services by the City of Gustavus; and
WHEREAS, the condition of Wilson/Rink Creek Road can preclude the ability of Gustavus residents to transport their children to school in a consistent manner;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Gustavus supports submission of a 2006-2008 STIP Nomination Form to the Alaska Department of Transportation.
PASSED and APPROVED by the Gustavus City Council this 14th day of October, 2004.
