Resolution No. 2004-07

Resolution in support of the creation of a special committee to be called the Lands Selection Committee

 

WHEREAS, the City of Gustavus is an incorporated entity; and

 

WHEREAS, the city of Gustavus has two years, after incorporation, to select 24 acres of State of Alaska land within the city boundaries; and

 

WHEREAS, the city of Gustavus may need these selected lands for future projects and development; and

 

WHEREAS, the city of Gustavus will have projects which are essential for the life, the vitality, and future capital projects of this city; and

 

WHEREAS, there are few sites still available presently for this selection;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council supports the creation of a Special Committee for the sole purpose of selecting available lands from the State of Alaska in accordance with the findings of the Community Strategic Planning Committee.

 

 

Passed and Approved by the Gustavus City Council this 11th day of November, 2004.
