Resolution No. 2004-14

WHEREAS, the Gustavus Community Network has provided Internet access to our community for nearly a decade as a committee of the Gustavus Community Association, and

WHEREAS, the Gustavus Community Association shall be disbanded on December 31, 2004, and

WHEREAS, the Gustavus Community Association has certain assets including equipment and cash that came entirely from fees paid to the Gustavus Community Network in exchange for provision of Internet access, and

WHEREAS, such assets are needed to continue providing and expanding Internet services;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Gustavus accept from the Gustavus Community Association all assets connected to the Gustavus Community Network, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that such assets be treated as income from Internet subscribers and therefore remain separate from other City accounts, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that there be a municipal Internet service provider in and for the City of Gustavus known as the Gustavus Community Network.
