Library Server Log
9/20/01 - 9/22/01: Completed conversion of Exchange Server from Enterprise Edition, Evaluation version to Standard Edition, licensed version. This was a true computing nightmare; took 2 days to remove Exchange so that it could be re-installed. Applied SP1. Replaced GroupShield 4.5 with 5.0 and applied FP1. Uninstalled MDaemon. 7/11/01: Upgraded RAM from 128 MB to 320 MB. 7/1/01: Copied message digests from MDaemon archives to Exchange public folders. Restored SQL Server collaboration databases (part of the MS Office Server Extensions) from the last tape backup before the Windows 2000 server upgrade. 6/7/01: Initial Exchange Server setup complete. Did not un-install MDaemon; simply disabled the services. Can return to MDaemon by uninstalling Exchange Server or stopping POP3 and SMTP services, then starting MDaemon services. 6/5/01: Added NNTP and SMTP services in preparation for Exchange 2000. Re-applied Service Pack 1. 5/9/01: Completed initial Windows 2000 Setup on the server. Earlier: Windows 2000 was a clean install on a new hard drive. However, the previous Windows NT Setup notes and old server log are still relevant; much of the same configuration was used.Document Actions |
