OPPORTUNITY FOR FAMILIES WITH SMALL CHILDREN:  As part of the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the Southeast Alaska Imagination Library will send a new book in your child’s name directly to your home each month.  The program is for children under age 5 and the first year is free.  (After that, the Gustavus Best Beginnings Program may be able to find additional funding for the $30 a year fee.  They are looking into it.)  We have registration forms for the program available at the Library.  Please stop by and get one if you are interested.

Thanks to all of our desk sitters and volunteers: John Hawley, Allison Banks, Heather Sellards, Stephanie Shor, Kate Boesser, Lynne Jensen, Ela Kunat, George Jensen, Carole Baker, Carolyn Elder, Karen Sargent, and Emma Johnson.  Thanks also to Tom Krwawecz who has started doing odd jobs around the library.  This past week he changed out light bulbs for us.

We remember and honor Rita Wilson who volunteered at the Library for many years and recently passed away.  She will be greatly missed!  Kate and Heather are taking turns covering Rita’s Saturday time on the desk now (11am-1pm).

Desk sitters needed!  We also have an opening for Fridays from 1:30-4:30pm.  Let us know if you are interested in becoming one of our volunteer desk sitters!
