Outlook Express for GCN

How to set up Microsoft Outlook Express to work with your Gustavus Community Network mailbox

  1. Start Outlook Express as usual.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose accounts. Outlook Express menu bar - Click Tools, then Accounts.Outlook Express mail accounts
  3. Click the mail tab. Double-click to edit an existing account or click Add to add a new one.
  4. Change the information in the general tab as shown below, substituting your own name and username for Nathan Borson and nborson, respectively.Outlook Express general settings
  5. Change the information on the servers tab to match what's shown below (but use your own username, not nborson). Outlook Express Server Settings
  6. Click OK, then Close to save your settings and return to Outlook Express.
  7. Check your mail to see if it works -- send yourself a test message!
  8. If you have any trouble, shut down Outlook Express completely, then re-start it to make sure the changes have taken effect.
