Project Title: Improvements and Repairs to Tong Fire Hall Facilities
Brief Description of Project:
Tong Fire Hall is an aging but structurally sound building that requires several repairs and upgrades.
The current 500 gallon single wall oil tank is aging, rusted, and out of compliance with state fuel storage requirements. It needs to be replaced with a DEC approved, double walled, securely mounted tank.
There are three separate response vehicle bay doors operated separately by a chain pulley. One is not functional. All three should be replaced with automatic openers to increase response efficiency, safety, and prevent door and vehicle damage.
The Fire Hall is an old wooden structure built by volunteers and sided with rough cut boards. The siding was never completed and some of the building still has moisture barrier sheeting exposed. The old siding needs to be replaced with Hardy Board or an equivalent low maintenance material.
