State releases results of community survey and reviews first three years performance of City of Gustavus

Nicole Grewe, Ph.D. and Eric Caldwell of the Division of Community and Regional Affairs, Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development presented two Gustavus reports at the Gustavus School multipurpose room on July 16, 2008.

The City Review evaluates the performance of the City of Gustavus for its first three years and compares it with the predictions in the incorporation petition that preceded the vote establishing the second-class city.

The Community Survey Report presents detailed findings of a survey mailed to all Gustavus residents and stakeholders. Just over 60% of those sent the survey responded to the questions ranging from demographics to quality of life, perceptions of the city government, and the economy.

Printed copies of the reports are available at City Hall and the Gustavus Public Library. An executive summary will be mailed to all survey respondents.
